My Personal Therapy

Weekend runs have been something I look forward to. I don’t know about others, for me running is a kind of personal therapy and meditation, a “me-time” moment that I can be completely carefree and just enjoy the endorphin produced from running (more endorphin = more energy and more awake hence happier).

I always have my headset when running; it simply is a pure pleasure listening to good vibe songs. Running with music on? Best therapy ever! I enjoy sing along. Or lip sync. Or just humming. Doesn’t matter fast or slow. Don’t really care who else is around. When I’m running I’m in my own world and I’m my own boss.

I think it’s very important for all of us to have certain kind of downtime and just do something we truly enjoy. Just like computer systems require regular maintenance time, it is the same for us. Running is my personal downtime and I schedule it for every weekend, it has been a very effective way for me to release stress and prevent my real mental break down or burn out.

You might do something completely different. Writing. Drawing. Gaming. Dancing. Socializing. I hope you find your own way, or start running 🙂
