You can have all the skills to fit in the roles that you are interested in, but it doesn’t mean that you will be offered that role. Because we don’t just look at skills anymore, we value attitudes.
Between a genius that no body can work with, or an average colleague who is kind and genuine, who would you pick?
Do not confuse attitudes with skills (attitude first):
- Visionary | Leadership
- Thoughtfulness | Communication
- Caring | Detail-oriented
- Optimistic | Problem-solving
- Disciplined | Organized
Quoting Winston S. Churchill, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.”
Good news is, skills can be learnt, attitudes can be improved. The question is, do you want to make the change now?
